ALBERTA UKC BREEDERS
Thinking of bringing a puppy in to your home? The process of choosing an accountable breeder who will be a good fit for you and your family can seem challenging. A good place to start would be doing some research on different breeds so you have an understanding of their requirements.
Once you have it narrowed down, reach out to some breeders and have conversations about their dogs, their experience, their health testing practices
(which you can find breed specific health tests on the OFA website www.ofa.org) and if they are local - perhaps a meet and greet.
No question is a dumb question, you should feel educated, and at ease with the breeder you choose. Finding an ethical, accountable preservation breeder might be the single most important part of the process to ensure a happy, healthy life for your dog.
